Copper Basin's OT-1 ore train heads west through Kearny.

OT-1 timed their arrival at Kearny perfectly with a break in the clouds as they thunder west with a train of empties for the copper mine at Ray.

The loaded copper ore train has reached it's destination and has started the dumping process.

Before departing Hayden, Arizona, for a trip to the Asarco’s Ray copper mine, the conductor of Copper Basin Railway’s OT-1 makes a roll-by inspection of the train on April 20, 2017.

The OT-1 is southbound at Kelvin. Good winter rains have made the paloverde and mesquite trees blossom out before the intense summer heat arrives.

Copper Basin Railway #301 leads the morning ore train back to the dumper in Hayden. Due to a shutdown at the smelter this was the only train that would run that day.

CBRY GP40 301 gets some attention at the carriers shop in Hayden, Az. This is the only GP40 on the roster and is right at home with some of the former CSX GP39s as the unit is a ex SCL/CSX veteran... (more)
